Sowing the Seeds of Dreams
Bringing Puppetry Arts to Rural Elementary Schools
Since 2014, Kuan’s Living has been promoting the art of puppetry across rural elementary schools in Taiwan, reaching over 310 schools and organizations to date.
Led by Robin Ruizendaal, former Director of the Taiyuan Asian Puppet Theatre Museum, recipient of the Taiwan-France Cultural Award, and the Taipei Culture Award, students learn the entire process—from puppet making and script writing to performing—all in their native language.
This program plants seeds of artistic appreciation and dreams, nurturing creativity and cultural identity among the children.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Empowering 150 Junior High Schools in Taipei & New Taipei City
In early 2020, Kuan’s Living donated 125,000 pieces of luxury bedding textile to support local junior high schools’ home economics classes. Students crafted personalized mask covers, which were shared with neighboring communities, contributing to pandemic prevention efforts.
From 2021 to 2022, fabric donations continued to fuel creative projects during New Taipei Maker Festival and Taipei’s Arts Education Program. Guided by teachers, students embraced the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—handcrafting thoughtful fabric gifts for their mothers and loved ones.
Aesthetic Education
Taiwan’s First Aesthetic Design Technology Center
In 2022, Kuan’s Living partnered with the Taipei City Government to establish the first vocational center for aesthetic design at Songshan High School.
Focusing on immersive learning and everyday aesthetics, the program has expanded to 9 schools, offering 45 courses and reaching over 8,000 students by 2023.
Sustainable Innovation
Sea-wool Airline Blankets
Since 2017, Kuan’s Living’s “Seawool” blankets recycle these shells into soft, antibacterial, warm textiles, delivering style and comfort for travelers.
